Poem: “Ache” by Daisy

Shells of skin serve as a backdrop for the stars to glow
To be shrouded in a breath of warm light, knowing you’re in love
Hot sapphire blue ripping through your veins when forgiveness is gifted
Streams of ice piercing your heart in fear, miniscule arrows that hit their targets perfectly
Stale air meets lonely skin, longing for his hand in yours
Fiery eyes stare into mine, my place finally found
Stars glow atop the skin shell, worn to protect coveted light
